Are we living among the walking dead? Are we in some sort of trance state of mind? Have you notice the great effects social media has made and how it has caused great impact on our daily lives? Well I have and its kinda sad to know that we as human beings lost the connection of real communication.
It wasn't that long ago when the only form of reaching out to people was a land line and now cellular phones have demolish that for many. Now I understand the need to communicate on the go because as a country we are busy daily and we benefit from having a constant connection to the world especially when you need or make business connections.
What's sad is we abuse it. Its like a drug to keep your cell phone out of your hand or If we lose it or it gets stolen we become crippled and panic because we don't know anyone numbers or information. We feel this way because the world is very easy to explore through a screen. There's so many distractions that we sometimes neglect what really matters for a facebook update or to find out what some celebrity said on twitter or worst uploading a picture on instagram while driving.
We have become so consumed with this virtual world, it has made people addicted to lying for attention, creating false relationships, trends that are stupid, give us crazy sayings like "Turn Up" (in my opinion), viral videos of fights with instead of people helping they're yelling "WorldStar". Yes SOME of it can be all done just for fun sometimes but social media and people that use it has ruin friendships, relationships, bullying and in some cases killed.
So tho we all may use social media and the internet lets keep in mind that we should use it more productively and responsibly lets learn to put down the cell phones, ipads and any electronic that take up quality time with family and socializing the old fashion way by exploring the real world because somewhere we lost touch with communicating in a direct way.
PEACE ONE LOVE
